My wife and I took a river cruise in June/July 2012 with Grand Circle Travel (highly recommended) on the Danube, Main & Rhine rivers from Vienna to Amsterdam. We saw parts of Austria, Germany, Chech Republic , Netherlands & Belgium. A really nice trip! The coffee & beer over there are really great, not to mention the scenery. You see a lot on these trips and you are on the move, but it is not hectec. These are just a few of the images I captured. All were shot hand held because of time constraints except the night shots, which I had time to set up with a tripod. It was nice to unpack once and have your hotel travelling along with you. The food on board was unbelieveably good. We sailed at night (except through the castle section of the Rhine) and were in a new town ready to explore each day. Lots of good people, great food and wonderful times! Life's hard! If you do a cruise I recommend doing at least a pre-tour package so you can rest & acclimate before boarding the ship. The post tour gave us time to unwind and rest up for the trip home. It is a good idea also.
